Brown County was recognized for its energy efficiency projects, which are expected to save $4.5-$5.2 million in utility costs.
Energy Efficiency Excellence Award
The award was presented by Focus on Energy, Wisconsin’s statewide energy efficiency and renewable energy program, at the Brown County STEM Innovation Center.
According to officials, the county’s long-term commitment to improving public facilities by reducing energy use is helping to save taxpayer dollars and promote sustainability.
Projects completed since 2017 include the Brown County Jail and Law Enforcement Center, the Brown County Courthouse complex, Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport, libraries, and the STEM Innovation Center.
