Broncos quarterback Bo Nix says team stays calm after Chiefs loss

Denver – After a disappointing 31‑10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Broncos quarterback Bo Nix emphasized that the team is not “pressing the panic button” and remains confident heading into their next game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Empower Field at Mile High.

Reflecting on the Chiefs game

Nix explained that the Broncos didn’t play as poorly as the scoreboard suggested. “You never play as bad as you think and you never play as good as you think,” he said. “We didn’t get many third‑down conversions, and it felt like the game was 7‑7, 14‑7 and 21‑7 for a long time, but we never got the big plays when we needed them.”

He added that the Chiefs gradually pulled away, but the Broncos stayed within reach longer than many observers realized. “It was reachable. We were in it for a while, we just didn’t help ourselves,” Nix said, noting that penalties and missed opportunities cost the team crucial momentum.

Looking ahead to Jacksonville

The upcoming matchup against the Jaguars offers Denver a chance to reset and move back toward a .500 record. Nix said the locker room is focused on improvement rather than panic. “Overall, we’re not going to press the panic button. We’re not freaking out. We feel like we’re still in a good spot and we just didn’t play great by any means and we’ve gotta play better,” he stated.

The Jaguars are the only team that beat the Broncos at home last season, making this a tough but important test. Nix believes the squad can rebound and get back on track, emphasizing that the team’s mindset is steady and determined.

Team outlook

Coach Sean Payton and the coaching staff have been working with the players to address the third‑down conversion issues and discipline penalties that plagued the Chiefs game. Practices this week have focused on sharpening the offense’s execution and reinforcing defensive assignments.

Fans can expect a competitive contest on Sunday, with the Broncos aiming to capitalize on home‑field advantage and prove that they can bounce back from a rough start to the season.

Stay tuned for post‑game coverage and updates on the Broncos’ progress toward a winning season.
