Broken Arrow’s Semaj Stanford Earns Selection to 2027 Navy All-American Bowl
BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Broken Arrow High School defensive back Semaj Stanford has earned a place in the 2027 Navy All-American Bowl, bringing national recognition to the Tigers football program and adding another milestone to his recruiting journey.
Stanford was recognized during a jersey presentation connected to the event’s Road to the Dome tour, according to an October 20 announcement carried by Yahoo Sports from NBC Sports.
The Oregon commitment will participate in the annual East-versus-West showcase at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The game is scheduled for Saturday, January 9, 2027, with coverage on NBC and Peacock beginning at noon Central time.
For Broken Arrow supporters, the selection provides an opportunity to follow a local athlete beyond the high school season and onto a nationally televised stage.
A nationally recognized defensive prospect
Stanford is a member of the 2027 recruiting class and is listed as a safety by Rivals. His recruiting profile records an Oregon commitment dated April 23, 2026.
The profile identifies his high school career at Jenks before his move to Broken Arrow, where he has continued developing his reputation as a versatile player.
Rivals’ scouting assessment emphasizes his ability to contribute in multiple phases of the game. It highlights his defensive ball skills, physical approach and athleticism, while describing a player who can influence a contest in several ways.

His speed also extends beyond football. The scouting report credits him with a 10.54-second performance in the 100 meters at the state finals during his junior year.
That combination helps explain the attention surrounding his recruitment: evaluators are considering both his work in the secondary and the broader athletic tools he brings to the field. Scouting assessments remain projections, but the All-American selection adds a separate national honor to his résumé.
Recruiting interest reached well beyond Oklahoma
Stanford’s recruiting history reflects interest from programs across the country.
The Oklahoma high school football resource Touchdown Friday Night lists offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Tulsa, along with programs including Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Texas, Michigan and Southern California.
Those entries document reported scholarship opportunities, rather than commitments to each school. His listed college choice remains Oregon.
The breadth of that interest provides context for the latest recognition. Stanford’s development has attracted attention from both nearby programs familiar with Oklahoma football and universities recruiting nationally.
For local fans, the bowl appearance will offer another setting in which to watch the skills that drew those programs’ attention.
What the All-American recognition means
The Road to the Dome tour recognizes 100 selected athletes through live and virtual jersey presentations.
According to the event announcement, the selection committee includes representatives associated with the All-American Bowl, recruiting analysts Andrew Ivins and Brandon Huffman, and NXGN.
The presentation marks Stanford’s inclusion in that group. The January game will bring selected players together for a showcase separate from their regular high school schedules.
Participants are also eligible for several event honors, including player-of-the-year, defensive-player-of-the-year and game MVP recognition. Selection establishes eligibility for those awards; it does not mean Stanford has already received one.
A date for Tigers fans to follow
Broken Arrow supporters can mark January 9 for the broadcast and follow official event announcements for subsequent roster and coverage updates.
The most useful distinction is between what has been confirmed and what remains ahead. Stanford has received All-American recognition and is listed as an Oregon commitment. His bowl performance and any additional awards are still to come.
For now, the achievement gives the Broken Arrow community a clear reason to celebrate: one of its high school football players has earned the opportunity to represent his school in a national showcase.
