Bristol Township police have released surveillance video in hopes that the public can help identify three masked, armed suspects who attempted a garage break‑in early Friday morning on Dixon Avenue in the Croydon section of the township. The same individuals are believed to have been involved in a shooting that occurred about 20 minutes later on nearby Colonial Drive.
Sequence of events
According to police, the suspects approached a residential garage on Dixon Avenue and tried to force the door open. Shortly after, a resident on the 1900 block of Colonial Drive reported seeing several people in his driveway on his security system checking a car door. The resident shouted at them to leave, and the group departed.
Moments later, gunshots rang out. Surveillance from a neighboring home captured two of the suspects exiting a vehicle and firing multiple rounds down the street. Police Lt. Mark Titus said, “It’s possible that they were targeting a vehicle of a resident who reported that he had confronted them.”
Impact on local families
One victim, Kyle Brooks, was inside his home with his wife and their 18‑month‑old child when he heard the gunfire. “My wife and I had an 18‑month‑old baby in between us. I looked out the window and thought it was a car backfiring,” Brooks recalled. The suspects later stole Brooks’ Honda Odyssey and a Dodge Ram that were parked on the property. While Brooks expressed disappointment over the loss of his vehicles, he emphasized that his family’s safety was his primary concern: “I wasn’t even worried about the truck. Everyone in the house was safe.”
Police response
The township is increasing patrols and coordinating with neighboring law‑enforcement agencies to locate the suspects, whom police describe as armed and dangerous. “The minute that firearms are used and people are put at risk, it takes it up to the next level, and we take it very seriously,” Titus said.
Authorities are urging anyone who saw the suspects or noticed suspicious activity to call 911 immediately and avoid confronting the individuals directly. The released video shows the suspects wearing masks and carrying firearms, providing a clear visual aid for anyone who may recognize them.
Community safety reminder
Residents are reminded to keep doors locked, maintain working security cameras, and report any unusual activity to law‑enforcement. The township continues to work closely with the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office and other regional partners to ensure a swift resolution to the case and to maintain public safety in the area.
