Brexton Busch, the 11-year-old son of late NASCAR champion Kyle Busch, found his way back to Victory Lane on Friday night at Port City Raceway in Oklahoma. This win was his first since his father’s passing on May 21.

Emotional Return to Victory Lane

Brexton started 14th but worked his way forward after a major wreck on the opening lap sent him toward the back of the field. His mother, Samantha Busch, expressed her pride and emotions on Instagram, stating that this was Brexton’s first win since Kyle’s passing and that there were a lot of emotions involved.

Brexton also shared his feelings about the win, saying it was tough to talk about but that the last two months have been really difficult without his dad, who was not only his father but also his mentor, mechanic, and biggest supporter.

Kyle was deeply involved in Brexton’s budding racing career, and Brexton has continued competing since Kyle’s death. On Friday, Brexton competed in Kyle’s green No. 18 car during the outlaw portion of the event, making the victory even more meaningful.
