The Milwaukee Brewers walked off the Miami Marlins 2-1 in 10 innings at American Family Field in Milwaukee on Friday. Garrett Mitchell’s tenth-inning single scored Jackson Chourio, securing the win for the Brewers.
The only other runs in the game came in the fifth inning, with Griffin Conine hitting a home run for the Marlins off of Brewers starting pitcher Logan Henderson. Joey Ortiz returned the favor in the bottom half of the inning with a home run off of Sandy Alcantara.
A parade of Brewers pitchers, including Chad Patrick, Aaron Ashby, Abner Uribe, Trevor Megill, and Craig Yoho, each pitched an inning of scoreless ball. Yoho got the win, while Lake Bachar took the loss for Miami.
The two teams meet again, with Milwaukee sending southpaw Shane Drohan to the mound. Drohan is 4-3 with a 3.09 ERA. Miami will counter with right-hander Max Meyer, who is 9-1 with a 2.58 ERA.
