The Brazos County Commissioners Court is set to approve a new policy on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) within the county. The policy aims to ensure that county data is protected from unauthorized access, use, or exposure, while also providing a framework for the responsible and transparent use of AI.
Key Objectives of the AI Policy
The policy hopes to accomplish several key objectives, including reducing reputational risk, maximizing the benefits of AI while minimizing risks to internal county business, and protecting employee and resident data.
In addition to the AI policy, the Commissioners Court will also discuss other local matters, including deductive change orders for a County Improvement Project, the salary for a full-time lab technician at the local medical examiner’s office, and Comcast utility permits.
Other Agenda Items
The court will also review an interlocal agreement for Burleson County to purchase road and miscellaneous signs from Brazos County. The signs are no longer needed by Brazos County, and the sale will help to reduce waste and generate revenue.
The Commissioners Court meeting will take place at 10 a.m. in the Brazos County Administration Building, located at 200 S. Texas Ave., Bryan.
