Brazil’s soccer team is undergoing a significant transformation as coach Carlo Ancelotti looks to build a younger squad for the 2028 Copa America. Veterans like Neymar, Casemiro, and Danilo will no longer be part of the team’s plans.
A New Era for Brazil Soccer
Ancelotti, who took over as Brazil coach in June 2025, believes the recent World Cup marks the end of an era for several key players. “I think this World Cup marks the end of a generation of very important players. Starting with Neymar, going through Danilo, Casemiro, all those players who were over 30 years old at the World Cup,” he said in an interview.
The team will face Australia in two friendlies in September as they begin their journey towards the 2028 Copa America. While Ancelotti plans to bring in new players, he also intends to keep some experienced players like Marquinhos to provide continuity.
