A park in Boynton Beach was renamed Saturday in honor of Officer Joseph Crowder, a 14-year veteran of the Boynton Beach Police Department who died in 2016. The park, now known as Officer Joseph Crowder Park and Dog Park, is located at 792 Renaissance Commons Boulevard.
Officer Crowder’s Legacy
Officer Crowder served with distinction as a patrol officer, Honor Guard member, and K-9 Unit member. He was partnered with K-9 Daxxx and later K-9 Iro, and apprehended numerous dangerous fugitives during his career.
Officer Crowder’s family, including his wife Bridgette and sons Jeremiah and Kaleb, were in attendance at the renaming ceremony. Jeremiah, who is set to join the police department as a cadet, unveiled a new sign at the park.
Mayor Rebecca Shelton praised Officer Crowder’s dedication to the community, saying, ‘We remember him not only for his dedication to our community, but also for the passion he brought to every run and every day on the job.’
