A 13-year-old boy was not seriously hurt after he got off a moving Disneyland ride and tumbled down its 50-foot waterfall, according to park officials and cellphone video.
Incident Details
The incident took place Sunday at the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. Cellphone video shows the boy twist and shoot down the waterfall just behind a ride vehicle filled with park-goers.
A park visitor, Paul, said he was near the ride when he heard a bystander scream and turned to his grandson to make sure he was OK. Paul said his grandson told him he saw the boy tumble down the ride’s drop “like a rag doll.”
Disneyland officials said a cast member immediately stopped the ride. The boy was taken to a hospital as a precaution and was released. The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health investigated the incident and “did not find any operational issues,” spokesperson Katherine Wzorek said.
The ride was back up and running Tuesday.
