A 13-year-old boy plummeted 50 feet down a popular ride at Disneyland after exiting the ride early. The incident occurred Sunday at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, a log flume ride at the Disneyland Resort in California.
Details of the Incident
According to park officials, the boy exited the moving ride before its iconic drop, falling about 50 feet down the water-covered track. The boy was taken to an area hospital for examination but did not suffer any serious injuries.
The ride closed for the remainder of the day but was reopened earlier this week after state investigators deemed there were no operational issues. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure replaced Splash Mountain at Disneyland in November 2024, featuring a large 50-foot drop as its climactic finale.
The Disneyland ride does not utilize lap bars or seat belts, which is standard among log flume rides. In contrast, the ride’s Disney World counterpart in Orlando, Florida, does utilize a lap bar.
