A person was taken into custody after firing a gun at Boston police officers in Dorchester Wednesday night, damaging their cruiser.
The incident occurred while the officers were conducting a subject stop near the intersection in the area of Normandy Street shortly after 9 p.m.
According to police, a suspect shot a firearm at the officers, causing damage to their cruiser. It was not clear whether the person who fired the gun was the same person who had been stopped by police.
The officers did not return fire, and the suspect was taken into custody. No injuries were reported, and Boston EMS responded as a precaution.
A gun and ballistic evidence were recovered at the scene. The incident is under investigation.
