Boston is bracing for its hottest weather of the season, starting this Wednesday. A big dome of high pressure will push dangerous heat toward New England Wednesday through Friday, with high temperatures climbing close to 100 degrees and feels-like temperatures potentially reaching as high as 111 degrees in several neighborhoods.
Heat Watch in Effect
An extreme heat watch is in effect for much of the area from Wednesday morning through Saturday, July 4. Residents are advised to drink plenty of water, limit their time outdoors, and look before they lock their cars to prevent leaving children or pets behind in a hot vehicle.
There is also a chance of thunderstorms this week, with the first chance arriving late Tuesday evening. A batch of showers and storms will dive in from the north with a front, and the threat for storms will linger overnight into Wednesday morning.
Highs on Saturday will be in the mid to upper 80s, and Sunday will be dry with highs in the mid 80s.
