Boise Airport Director Rebecca Hupp to Retire After 14 Years of Service

Rebecca Hupp, the director of Boise Airport, is set to retire from her position with the City of Boise this June, concluding a 14-year tenure marked by substantial growth and development at the airport and throughout the Treasure Valley. Under her leadership, passenger traffic at the airport increased by 82% over the past decade, according to city officials.

Significant Achievements

During Hupp’s time as director, the airport saw the completion of major infrastructure projects, expanded air service, and attracted private-sector investments. Her efforts in building a ‘high-performing airport team’ focused on engagement, innovation, and operational excellence were also highlighted by city officials.

Hupp expressed her gratitude in a news release, stating, ‘Serving the Boise community and leading this exceptional airport team has been the honor of a lifetime. I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together.’

Future Plans

After her departure, Hupp plans to continue her aviation career with a Dallas-based aviation construction company, a move she believes will offer a better balance between her professional and personal life.

Transition and Leadership

Boise Mayor Lauren McLean praised Hupp’s leadership and legacy, noting her strong leadership and clear vision that facilitated unprecedented growth at the airport. The city has assured that airport operations and ongoing projects will continue without interruption during the transition. Kathleen Watkins, the Deputy Director of Finance and Business Development at the airport, will serve as interim director while the search for a permanent replacement is underway.
