Emergency crews recovered the body of an individual Thursday evening after responding to a reported drowning in the Rivervale area.
According to the Lepanto Fire Department, crews were dispatched at approximately 6:07 p.m. on June 18 after receiving a call about a possible drowning.
Emergency personnel immediately began search operations in the water. During the search, responders located and recovered the individual’s body.
Authorities had not released the person’s identity or additional details about the circumstances surrounding the incident as of Thursday night.
In a statement, the Lepanto Fire Department expressed condolences to the individual’s family and friends.
Multiple agencies assisted with the search and recovery effort, including the Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office, Marked Tree Fire Department, Lepanto Police Department, Lepanto Dispatch, Pafford EMS, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, and the Poinsett County Coroner’s Office.
