Former U.S. Olympic skier and gold medalist Bode Miller is set to have a pair of misdemeanor drug charges dismissed, according to his attorney Jeremy Stafford. The charges, which included possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, were filed after Miller was pulled over for speeding on a highway.
Miller had pleaded not guilty to the charges, which were filed on June 6. In an Instagram post, Miller stated that he was unaware of a small amount of cannabis and a cannabis pipe that a friend who was traveling with him had in their possession.
Stafford said that the charges are being dismissed due to a lack of evidence, as no drugs were found on Miller and the passenger acknowledged ownership of the substances. Miller won two silver medals in Salt Lake City in 2002, three medals in Vancouver in 2010, including a gold, and a bronze in Sochi in 2014.
