Bird Walk at Fort Phil Kearny Invites Community to Explore Local Wildlife

Fort Phil Kearny State Historic Site is inviting the community to participate in a Bird Walk scheduled for Sunday, June 7. This event provides an opportunity for residents and visitors to explore the diverse bird species that inhabit the area, including the sandhill cranes that have chosen the site as a nesting location.

The Bird Walk will commence at 9 a.m., and participants are asked to gather at the Interpretive Center. Wyoming Historical Site Superintendent Sharie Mooney Shada, who announced the event on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, emphasized the presence of experts who will assist in identifying the various bird species. The event is designed to be family-friendly, with a $4 fee for adults, while children can join for free.
