According to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing, Thiel Macro LLC acquired around 1.2 million American Depositary Shares in Vista. The fund’s portfolio now includes stakes in various energy and power companies, such as Vistra, American Electric Power, and X-Energy.
Vista operates in the Vaca Muerta region, which is home to significant shale gas and oil reserves. The company currently produces 160,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day and has invested over $6.5 billion in Argentina.
