The UP Partnership in Bexar County has made significant strides in its mission to improve student success. As the organization’s CEO reflects on its first year, it’s clear that collaboration and shared accountability have been key to its progress.
Future Ready Bexar County Plan
The Future Ready Bexar County Plan aims to increase postsecondary enrollment among Bexar County high school graduates to 70% by 2030. To achieve this goal, over 100 partners across education, higher education, workforce, government, philanthropy, and the nonprofit sector are working together.
This past year has seen several notable achievements, including a 71% College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) rate among seven Future Ready partner school districts. Dual-credit completion also rose by 3% over the previous year, and Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Reading and Math scores improved by 6% and 11%, respectively.
Strengthening Partnerships
One of the most significant milestones for UP Partnership was strengthening the framework that helps partners work together and maintain mutual accountability. The 2026-2028 Future Ready Institutional Agreement process aligned organizations around common goals, shared measures, and long-term accountability.
The accompanying Future Ready Ecosystem Map makes these connections visible, helping community members better understand how organizations across Bexar County contribute to a shared vision for improving outcomes for children and youth.
Another notable initiative is Advise Me 210, a countywide advising ecosystem that brings together school districts, higher education institutions, youth-serving organizations, and community partners to help students navigate life after high school. The new AdviseMe210.org website provides planning tools, milestone checklists, videos, and local resources in one place.
Investing in Organizations
Building a stronger ecosystem for young people requires investing not only in programs but also in the organizations behind them. Future Ready has helped align investments that strengthened youth-serving organizations across Bexar County, including Catalyst Exchange, UT San Antonio, San Antonio Area Foundation, and United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County.
These investments have demonstrated how coordinated action can create a stronger, more sustainable system of support across Bexar County.
