Bethune-Cookman University Kicks Off Day of Giving

Bethune-Cookman University, Central Florida’s only historically black university, is launching its annual Day of Giving campaign to support student success. The campaign, which kicks off on June 18, aims to raise $200,000 to fund scholarships for students.

Supporting Student Success

According to Dr. Albert D. Mosley, the university’s president, the Day of Giving is an opportunity for alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community supporters to invest in the university’s future. The funds raised will go towards awarding scholarships to top-tier students, including those who are preparing to graduate but may not have the financial resources to do so.

Student Asia Strickland, who is studying criminal justice and pre-law, shared why she chose to attend Bethune-Cookman University. She said she wanted to attend a historically black college or university (HBCU) and appreciated the smaller class sizes and intimate setting of the university.

To participate in the Day of Giving, individuals can donate online at Give.Cookman.edu, by phone at (386) 481-2950, or in person at the Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center. The university is encouraging everyone to get involved and support the campaign.
