Bengals Kitchen & Bar invites travelers to paint kickoff mural at CVG Airport

As the Cincinnati Bengals prepare to open the 2026 season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the airline terminal at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) is turning its concourse into a community canvas. The airport’s Bengals Kitchen & Bar, located in Concourse B, is inviting both passengers and staff to help paint a large mural that will greet visitors throughout the weekend.

How to join the mural project

Starting Saturday morning, a table of paint supplies will be set up near the entrance to the Bengals Kitchen & Bar. Anyone who walks by can grab a brush, dip it in the provided colors, and add a brushstroke to the design. The mural will read “Bengals 2026 Kick Off Weekend” and will depict iconic elements such as Paycor Stadium, the Bengals’ logo, the Cincinnati skyline and a nod to the region’s famous bourbon heritage.

Airport leadership backs the effort

“Delighting passengers and celebrating the Bengals is part of our DNA here at CVG, and we’re excited to bring the two together this weekend through this mural experience,” said Larry Krauter, CEO of CVG Airport. Krauter added that strong partnerships with SSP America and the Bengals align with the airport’s strategy to deliver value for travelers while fostering a sense of community.

Why the mural matters

Beyond the visual appeal, the project reflects a broader effort to make the airport a welcoming gathering place for families and fans alike. By inviting ordinary travelers to contribute to a public artwork, CVG reinforces the idea that community pride can be expressed in everyday spaces—not just in stadiums. The inclusion of the city skyline and bourbon imagery also highlights Cincinnati’s cultural heritage, tying together sports, local industry and regional identity.

What to expect

The mural will be completed by the end of the weekend, just in time for the Bengals’ opening game on Sunday. Once finished, it will remain on display in the concourse, offering a lasting reminder of the city’s football spirit for future travelers. The airport plans to photograph the finished work and share it on its social‑media channels, giving credit to participants who helped bring the vision to life.

Community response

Early reactions from travelers have been enthusiastic. One passenger, who stopped by while waiting for a connecting flight, said, “It’s fun to be part of something bigger than just my trip. I love seeing the Bengals represented here, and it makes the airport feel more like home.” Airport staff have also joined in, adding a few brushstrokes during their breaks.

For those interested in taking part, the paint station will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. No artistic experience is required—just a willingness to help and a love for the Bengals. The airport encourages families traveling together to make a quick stop, turning a routine layover into a memorable shared experience.

Looking ahead

CVG’s collaboration with the Bengals and local partners demonstrates how public‑private initiatives can enhance the travel experience while reinforcing regional pride. As the 2026 season gets underway, the airport hopes the mural will serve as a rallying point for fans, reminding everyone that the spirit of Cincinnati travels with them, whether they’re boarding a flight or cheering from the stands.
