Bell Road YMCA hosts Grill, Whisk & Groove Festival fundraiser on Sept. 19

Montgomery families and community members are invited to the Bell Road YMCA’s annual Grill, Whisk & Groove Festival, scheduled for Saturday, September 19 at 4:30 p.m. The event, a beloved local tradition, will take place on the YMCA’s Bell Road campus.

The centerpiece of the festival is the steak‑off, where local chefs and home cooks will compete for the title of best steak in Montgomery. In addition to the sizzling competition, participants can enjoy a whisk bake‑off showcasing creative desserts, and a lively Zumba concert that encourages everyone to move and have fun together.

All proceeds from the festival will be directed to the Bell Road YMCA’s Annual Support Campaign, which funds after‑school programs, youth sports, and community health initiatives. The YMCA emphasizes that these programs rely heavily on local generosity, and events like this festival are essential to keeping them thriving.

Action 8’s Teresa Lawson recently sat down with YMCA leaders Sharon Washington Clark and Camille Price to discuss the event’s highlights and the impact of the fundraiser. In the interview, Clark highlighted how the steak‑off brings together local businesses and volunteers, while Price noted that the Zumba concert adds a family‑friendly fitness element that aligns with the YMCA’s mission of promoting healthy living.

Tickets are available online, and the YMCA encourages early purchase to ensure seating for the steak‑off tasting and the Zumba concert. Families can also bring friends and neighbors, making the festival a true community gathering.

How to Get Involved

Anyone interested in supporting the Bell Road YMCA can purchase tickets through the organization’s website. Volunteers are also welcome to help with event setup, judging the steak‑off, or assisting with the Zumba concert. The YMCA plans to recognize top volunteers during the festival’s closing remarks.

For more details, including ticket pricing and volunteer opportunities, visit the Bell Road YMCA’s website or contact the YMCA office directly.
