Battleground Public Schools has secured enough donations to continue offering boys and girls golf, gymnastics, boys and girls swimming, and bowling during the 2026-2027 school year. The district announced July 28 that donations from several individuals and the education Research Organization Foundry 10 met fundraising goals of $5,000 for golf, $6,259 for gymnastics, $13,500 for swimming, and $8,700 for bowling.

Athletics Programs Saved

The sports had been at risk after the district’s failed educational programs and operations levy led to budget reductions. The programs will still be offered, only if they meet minimum student participation requirements. Golf requires 10 athletes per school, or 14 district-wide, while swimming requires 10 athletes per school, or 17 district-wide. Gymnastics requires 8 athletes per school, or 12 district-wide, and bowling requires 6 athletes per school, or 12 district-wide.

Registration for golf and swimming closes at 9 a.m. Wednesday, August 19th. Registration for gymnastics and bowling closes at 9 a.m. Tuesday, October 27th. To register for the athletic programs, visit the school’s website for more information.
