The Springfield Bass Pro store, founded by Johnny Morris in 1972, is often considered one of the company’s largest stores. However, determining whether it is the largest in terms of square feet is a matter of debate.
Comparing Store Sizes
According to Visit Springfield, the Springfield store has almost 500,000 square feet. In contrast, the Memphis Bass Pro store, located in the Pyramid, has 535,000 square feet. However, it’s unclear how much of the Memphis store’s space is dedicated to retail versus other amenities, such as the 103-room hotel.
The Greene County Assessor’s website lists the Springfield store as having 301,564 square feet, not including the 38,739 square feet dedicated to the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium.
Other Large Bass Pro Stores
Other notable large Bass Pro stores include the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania location, which has 225,000 square feet, and the Grapevine, Texas store, which has 197,000 square feet.
