A disturbing video shows a group of six unknown suspects wearing hooded sweatshirts attacking an elderly man outside a 7-Eleven in Baltimore. The suspects, who appear to be teens, knocked the man to the ground several times and threw various objects at him. At one point, one of the suspects pointed what looks like a semi-automatic rifle at the victim, while another suspect pointed a sword at him.
Incident Details
The incident occurred in the city’s Northern District just before 4 a.m. on July 7. The Baltimore Police report that the victim sustained minor bruising from the assault. The police are currently searching for the suspects and have not confirmed if they were involved in other related crimes in the city.
The attack comes after Baltimore’s Democratic mayor, Brandon M. Scott, announced a reported drop in violent crime in the city. According to Scott’s office, the city has seen 50 homicides so far this year, which represents the fewest homicides ever recorded in Baltimore through the first six months of a calendar year.
