Officers with the Kansas City Police Department made an unusual discovery in the trunk of a stolen car recently. Police spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen and arrested a suspect at the scene. Meanwhile, officers heard what sounded like a goat. They thought it was the suspect’s cellphone ringtone. To their surprise, it was not.
The suspect reportedly told police, ‘No, those are real goats. They’re in my trunk.’ Officers opened the trunk and found two baby goats, a girl and a boy. They belonged to the suspect, who was from out of state.
The KC Pet Project then took over, caring for the ‘incredibly friendly’ goats, which were so young they were still being bottle-fed. The goats were placed in a ‘goat-savvy’ foster home, and after a 10-day stray hold, the foster family plans to adopt them.
Denver, the boy, and Aspen, the girl, were thin and suffering from a significant intestinal parasite problem, according to the KC Pet Project. The KC Pet Project hopes the goats make a full recovery.
