Austin Metro Hockey Association Marks Five Years at The Crossover

The Austin Metro Hockey Association (AMHA) is celebrating its fifth anniversary at The Crossover, located on the Cedar Park-Leander line. As the primary governing body for youth hockey in Austin, AMHA has played a pivotal role in nurturing young talent and promoting the sport in the region.

Building a Youth Hockey Community

Recently, AMHA joined forces with The Pond Hockey Club to establish a new youth hockey community under the name Austin Capitals. This collaboration aims to enhance the local hockey scene by offering an intercity league, tournament teams, and travel teams. The initiative is designed to provide young players with more opportunities to develop their skills and compete at various levels.

To further encourage participation in the sport, AMHA hosts ‘Try Hockey For Free’ events at local schools. These events are instrumental in introducing new players to hockey, making the sport accessible to a broader audience. By engaging with schools, AMHA ensures that children from diverse backgrounds have the chance to experience the excitement and camaraderie that hockey offers.

Community Engagement and Growth

AMHA’s commitment to community engagement is evident in its efforts to create a welcoming environment for families and young athletes. The association’s activities not only promote physical fitness but also emphasize the importance of teamwork and discipline, values that resonate with many families in the area.

Located at 1717 Scottsdale Drive, Ste. 210, Cedar Park, AMHA continues to be a cornerstone of the local sports community. As it celebrates this milestone, the association looks forward to expanding its reach and impact in the years to come.
