Parents, coaches, and community members are invited to support their local high school golfers this Thursday, Aug. 27, as teams across the district tee off at a variety of nearby courses. The schedule highlights both boys and girls competitions, offering families a chance to cheer on student‑athletes while enjoying the beautiful fall weather.
Boys Golf Matchups
The boys teams will begin early in the afternoon. Greensburg‑Salem travels to the Norvelt Golf Club’s Front 9 in Mount Pleasant at 2:45 p.m. Following that, Brownsville heads to Bentworth’s Nemacolin Country Club in Beallsville for a 3 p.m. start. Thomas Jefferson will play at the South Union Township Municipal Golf Course in Laurel Highlands, also at 3 p.m., as will Uniontown at Butler’s Golf Course in Elizabeth. Waynesburg Central meets its rivals at the Carmichaels Golf Club in Carmichaels at 3 p.m., and Jefferson‑Morgan will finish the day at Lone Pine Country Club in McGuffey, teeing off at 3:30 p.m.
Girls Golf Matchups
The girls’ schedule mirrors the boys with two simultaneous contests. Connellsville will play at the Red Course of Cedarbrook Golf Course in Belle Vernon at 3 p.m. Meanwhile, Riverview travels to the Luke’s Links section of Norvelt Golf Club in Mount Pleasant for a 3:30 p.m. start.
Community Involvement
These events provide an excellent opportunity for families to gather, foster school spirit, and reinforce the values of teamwork and perseverance. Local churches and civic groups are encouraged to attend and consider sponsoring a hole or providing refreshments for the players and their families.
Important Note
All times are subject to change due to weather or course conditions. Coaches will notify schools of any adjustments. Spectators are reminded to respect the private nature of the clubs and follow any posted guidelines.
