Ten years after its founding, Arts DuPage continues to serve as the central hub for artists, cultural organizations, and families throughout DuPage County. The regional arts council, operating under the DuPage Foundation, announced a special reception to mark its anniversary and to share the results of the first economic impact study of the arts in the county.
Reception and Economic Impact Study
The celebration will be held on August 25 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the McAninch Arts Center, 425 Fawell Boulevard in Glen Ellyn. Attendees will include artists, arts lovers, and community leaders. The program will feature an overview of the new study by Claire Rice, executive director of Arts Alliance Illinois, highlighting how arts activities contribute to local jobs, tourism, and quality of life.
Grant Program Expansion
Arts DuPage’s Arts and Culture Grant Program, now in its third year, has awarded more than $360,000 to nonprofit arts groups such as BrightSide Theatre, the DuPage Symphony, the Naperville Art League, and Young Naperville Singers. A new round of grants will be released soon, offering additional financial support for approved projects and programming that enrich the county’s cultural landscape.
Online Resource for Families and Creators
The council’s website, artsdupage.org, remains a free, publicly accessible portal that lists over 110,000 annual users. The site provides searchable information on classes, performances, exhibitions, and volunteer opportunities, making it easier for families to find wholesome, faith‑friendly activities for children and adults alike.
Community Involvement
Local parents and faith‑based groups have praised the council’s efforts to keep arts education affordable and accessible. By promoting events that reinforce traditional family values and encourage community participation, Arts DuPage aligns with the broader goal of strengthening neighborhoods across the county.
How to Attend
Anyone interested in joining the reception should email Debbie Venezia at [email protected] to register. The event is open to the public, and registration is required to manage attendance.
