West Fort Worth’s Artisan Circle is undergoing a major revitalization, driven by new restaurants, retail shops and entertainment venues that aim to create a family‑friendly environment. The five‑block mixed‑use urban village, formerly known as Crockett Row, was bought by Younger Partners’ investment arm in August 2022. The developers renamed the area Artisan Circle to reflect its location in the city’s Cultural District and to signal a fresh vision for the neighborhood.
New Tenants Anchor the District
Long‑time favorites such as Social House and Movie Tavern remain, while newcomers include a Tandy Leather flagship store, Collectiv Academy beauty school, Sandbox VR, and a lineup of eateries: Top of the Morning Brunch House, The Henry McCarty Irish Pub, La Cabrona, and Terra Mediterranean, which returned in a larger space after a five‑year hiatus. Upcoming arrivals feature Partenope Ristorante, a popular Dallas‑based pizzeria, and the Silver Leaf Cigar Lounge, slated to relocate in early 2027.
Developer Vision Focused on Families
Co‑managing partner Moody Younger explained that the purchase was motivated by the site’s prime location and its potential to serve Fort Worth families. “We want it to be an area that Fort Worth is proud of, where you’re comfortable bringing your family to a dinner, an event, or the movies,” Younger said. He added that future retail will lean toward boutique‑type products and art, reinforcing the district’s cultural ties.
Improved Safety Measures Turn the Corner
When Younger Partners acquired the property, many storefronts were vacant due to pandemic‑related economic hardship, parking challenges and a nearby bar scene that deterred family‑oriented businesses. After a series of violent incidents in the adjacent West 7th area, including a September 2023 shooting of a Texas Christian University student, Younger Partners installed additional security cameras in all parking garages and worked with the city to increase police presence.
The city also launched the Golden Lasso accreditation program for businesses holding Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission licenses. Accredited establishments train staff on TABC laws, fake‑ID detection and safety protocols. Younger Partners credit the program, the added cameras and the departure of problematic bars for creating a more favorable environment. “It feels like it turned a corner toward the end of last year, early this year,” he noted.
City Council Support and Crime Reduction
Fort Worth City Council member Elizabeth Beck praised the Golden Lasso program, saying it brought bar owners together with the city to adopt best practices. Beck cited 2025 statistics showing a 36 % reduction in crime in the broader West 7th area, attributing the decline to smart policing, security cameras, better lighting, traffic‑control bollards, an open‑container ban and zoning changes that limit bar size.
Infrastructure Enhancements for Shoppers
Younger Partners have added four‑hour garage parking validation, streamlined street parking and are collaborating with the city to restore two‑way traffic on streets previously converted to one‑way to manage late‑night bar traffic. “For a retailer, you need two‑way streets, not one‑way streets,” Younger emphasized. Councilmember Beck expressed support for the two‑way street initiative, provided proper safety studies are completed.
Occupancy Near Two‑Thirds Full
The current site plan shows roughly two‑thirds of storefronts occupied. Of the 18 remaining vacancies, nine have deals in progress, including a soon‑to‑be announced restaurant‑entertainment tenant for the large space at the southwest corner of Crockett and Currie streets, formerly home to the Concrete Cowboy sports bar.
Local Entrepreneurs Share Their Motivation
Leena Shanna, chief operating officer of La Cabrona and Terra Mediterranean, described the district as a true family affair. Terra Mediterranean, originally opened in 2010, closed in 2019 due to rising rents and parking woes, but reopened in March 2025 after Younger Partners encouraged its return. La Cabrona, launched in September 2024, showcases authentic Mexican cuisine rooted in Shanna’s mother’s cooking.
Collectiv Academy, the newest beauty‑school location, opened in July 2025, offering 34‑week cosmetology and 25‑week esthetics programs. Business director Fielding Graham highlighted the school’s central location, ample parking and proximity to Texas Christian University as assets for students.
Top of the Morning Brunch House, opened in February 2026, adds a Greek‑American flavor to the mix, with owner Nik Roditis emphasizing the district’s welcoming atmosphere for families.
Looking Ahead
With a growing roster of dining, retail and entertainment options, enhanced security measures and city‑backed safety programs, Artisan Circle is poised to become a vibrant, family‑oriented destination in west Fort Worth. The ongoing collaboration between Younger Partners and municipal officials demonstrates a shared commitment to revitalizing the area while preserving the community’s cultural heritage.
