Two gas leaks were reported in Arlington on Thursday afternoon, according to the Arlington Police Department. One leak was reported at 2819 W. Park Row Drive, and the other occurred when a construction crew damaged a natural gas pipeline near 2226 Ridgedale Drive.
Atmos Energy technicians shut off natural gas service to the area, and crews will remain on scene to make the necessary repairs. Several nearby residences were evacuated by emergency personnel as a precaution.
Motorists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes if possible. The response is expected to last at least three hours and could take longer.
