Arizona Wildcats baseball unveils 2027 fall schedule with Mexico tour and Vegas showdown

The University of Arizona Wildcats baseball program released its 2027 fall schedule on Thursday, giving fans a chance to see the upcoming team in action well before the regular season begins. The five‑game slate includes two exhibitions against the Naranjeros de Hermosillo, a storied Mexican Pacific League club, plus contests with two in‑state junior colleges and a marquee finale against Vanderbilt in Las Vegas.

Mexican Baseball Fiesta at home and away

Arizona will once again take part in the Mexican Baseball Fiesta at Tucson’s historic Kino Stadium, opening the fall series on Oct. 1 against the Naranjeros de Hermosillo. The Naranjeros, who have featured former Arizona catcher Cesar Salazar, will return to Tucson for a second meeting at Hi Corbett Field on Oct. 9, giving Wildcat supporters two opportunities to watch international talent on home turf.

Local junior‑college exhibitions

Later in October, the Wildcats will host Pima College and Central Arizona College for exhibition games. These matchups provide valuable playing time for the 2027 roster while highlighting the strong baseball tradition within Arizona’s junior‑college system.

Season‑ending showdown in Las Vegas

The fall schedule culminates on Nov. 1 with a high‑profile game against Vanderbilt at the Las Vegas Ballpark. The contest is scheduled for the day before the University of Arizona men’s basketball team opens its 2026‑27 season in Vegas against UCLA, and the women’s basketball squad faces Stanford. Fans traveling to Sin City will be able to enjoy a triple‑header of Wildcat athletics.

Looking ahead to the 2027 regular season

Arizona’s official 2027 regular‑season opener is set for Feb. 19 in Arlington, Texas, where the Wildcats will face defending NCAA champion Oklahoma. The Shiners Children’s College Showdown will also feature games against Virginia and Clemson. The Wildcats’ home opener follows on Feb. 23 against UNLV.

Coach [Name] emphasized that the fall schedule is designed to give the new roster early competitive experience, test the team against diverse styles of play, and build excitement among the fan base. “Playing the Naranjeros gives our players a chance to face professional talent from abroad, while the junior‑college exhibitions let us evaluate local prospects,” the coach said.

Tickets for the fall games will go on sale next week through the university’s official athletics website. Season‑ticket holders will receive priority access, and families are encouraged to attend the local exhibitions for a budget‑friendly way to support the Wildcats.

With the schedule now public, Arizona fans can start planning trips to Tucson, Phoenix, and Las Vegas to catch the Wildcats in action and enjoy a preview of what promises to be an exciting 2027 campaign.
