Garen Caulfield, a former Arizona infielder, has been hired as the Director of Player Development and Recruiting for the Arizona Wildcats baseball team. Caulfield, who played for the Wildcats from 2022-2025, will be working under Chip Hale, who has been the team’s coach for the past five years.
Caulfield’s Baseball Career
Caulfield played in 231 games for the Wildcats, which is the second-most in school history. He had 877 at-bats and hit .276 with 21 home runs and 153 RBI. Before joining the Wildcats, Caulfield spent two seasons at San Joaquin Delta College, although he did not play due to COVID-19 cancellations.
Caulfield is the third new coach added to the team by Hale, along with hitting coach Jack Meggs and catching coach Daniel Molinari. Recruiting coordinator Trip Couch and pitching coach Sean Kenny will also be returning for the 2027 season.
