The Appleton Common Council has approved a resolution to terminate the city’s contract with Flock for license plate reader cameras. The city had notified Flock last month that it would end the use of its cameras on June 30 and asked the company to disable and remove them by July 31.
Next Steps
Mayor Jake Woodford stated that the city has put covers on the cameras and is awaiting action from Flock. The common council also voted to refer back to the Safety and Licensing Committee a resolution to establish public oversight and accountability standards for automated license plate readers.
