Ice Cream Preferences
The survey also explored ice cream preferences, with cookies and cream being the favorite flavor among Gen Z, millennials, and Gen X. Baby boomers, on the other hand, prefer chocolate. When it comes to toppings, hot fudge is the favorite among millennials, Gen X, and baby boomers, while Gen Z prefers crushed Oreos.
The survey also found that Americans prefer to eat their ice cream in a bowl or cup, rather than in a cone. Additionally, the survey revealed that many people are unaware of the legal difference between ice cream and frozen dairy desserts, with 60% of respondents not knowing that ice cream has a legal definition.

The survey found that Americans eat a significant amount of ice cream, with the average person consuming 572 ounces of ice cream per summer. This translates to 35.75 pounds of ice cream per person, or a total of 11.4 billion pounds of ice cream consumed nationally over the course of a summer.
