Spokane Neighborhood Action Partners (SNAP) has announced a leadership transition with the appointment of Amber Johnson as the incoming Chief Executive Officer. Johnson will succeed Julie Honekamp, who has served as CEO for over 15 years, on October 1. Honekamp will remain involved through the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition.
Leadership Transition
Julie Honekamp, who has been at the helm since 2011, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to lead SNAP and highlighted the organization’s growth under her leadership. During her tenure, SNAP expanded to over 30 programs, serving tens of thousands of individuals and families annually.
Amber Johnson, who has nearly two decades of nonprofit leadership experience, most recently served as SNAP’s Chief Operating Officer. In her new role, she aims to continue the organization’s legacy of community service and strengthen its impact. Johnson stated, “It is my intent to ensure that SNAP remains a neighbor by your side well into the future.”
Community Impact
Under Honekamp’s leadership, SNAP has been instrumental in building programs and partnerships that have made a lasting difference in the Spokane community. The organization has a 60-year history of service, focusing on providing resources and support to individuals and families in need.
As Johnson steps into her new role, she brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to maintaining SNAP’s mission. Her leadership is expected to guide the organization through its next phase of growth and community engagement.
