Albuquerque city parks are getting a much-needed cooling break this week. The city of Albuquerque has put together an operation to help people stay safe and comfortable during extreme summer heat.
Cooling Operation Details
The Parks and Recreation Department will run sprinklers at neighborhood parks throughout Albuquerque all week, as temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or higher. Sprinkler use will be rotated through Tuesday, July 28, to Friday, July 31, through various neighborhood parks.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the city’s pools and splash pads to stay cool. Kids 17 and under swim free on Sundays. Children under age two always swim free, while select pools offer $1 swim nights on Fridays.
