The Soldotna and Kenai Chambers of Commerce will host a nonpartisan gubernatorial forum and debate, titled ‘Narrowing the Field,’ on Thursday, August 6. The event is free to attend and will be aired live by KSRM Radio Group on 920 AM and 92.5 FM, with an online stream available on RadioKenai.

All candidates were invited to participate, with 10 confirming their attendance: Dave Bronson, Adam Crum, Edna DeVries, Meda DeWitt, Matt Heilala, Shelley Hughes, Lesil McGuire, Treg Taylor, Bill Walker, and Michael Gilbert. Tom Begich, Click Bishop, Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins, and Bernadette Wilson declined to participate.
The event is designed to help Kenai Peninsula voters make a more informed choice before the August 18 primary election. Doors will open at 5:30 PM, and the event will begin at 6:00 PM at the Soldotna Sports Complex Meeting Rooms, located at 538 Arena Ave., Soldotna, AK 99669.
