Country music superstar Alan Jackson brought his touring career to an end with a triumphant finale concert in Nashville, Tennessee. The event, titled ‘Last Call: One More for the Road — The Finale,’ featured Jackson and numerous guest performers, including Carrie Underwood, Thomas Rhett, and George Strait.
Guest Performers
The concert began with a marathon run of Jackson covers from some of the biggest names in contemporary country. Each performer shared a personal story about Jackson’s influence on their music. Carrie Underwood sang ‘Everything I Love’ after revealing that Jackson was her first concert in 1994.
Other guest performers included Miranda Lambert, Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs, Eric Church, Luke Bryan, and Little Big Town. Jackson’s own family members, Adam Wright, Big City Brian Wright, and Carlisle Wright, also took the stage.
Jackson’s Set
After a storm delay, Jackson took the stage, performing his best-known hits with real ferocity. He walked from side to side of the stage, greeting each section while championing his band and the power of ‘real country music.’ Jackson shared anecdotes about writing certain songs, including ‘I’d Love You All Over Again’ for his wife on their 10th wedding anniversary.
The concert ended with a fireworks display during ‘Chattahoochee.’ Although this marks the end of Jackson’s touring career, it is not the end of his music career. He recently released a country cover of Orleans’ ‘Still the One’ to celebrate his 50-year relationship with his wife, Denise Jackson.
