Alabama defensive back Bray Hubbard has been named to the Danny Wuerffel Trophy Watchlist, an award that recognizes college football’s premier award for community service. Hubbard, a top contributor to the Crimson Tide’s defense, regularly visits local elementary schools, participates in the Read Across America initiative, and volunteers at the West Alabama Food Bank.
Community Service
Hubbard’s service to the Tuscaloosa community goes beyond the football field. He is a regular speaker at the Tuscaloosa Juvenile Detention Center, participates in Night to Shine, and commits time to CrossingPoints, a campus-wide organization that provides services for students with disabilities aged 18-21.
Barrett Jones is the lone winner in Alabama history, taking home the Wuerffel Trophy in 2011. Hubbard is one of 113 student-athletes named to the watchlist, which reflects the legacy of leadership and humanitarianism of Danny Wuerffel, the 1996 Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback at Florida.
