Russell’s Role in the Offense
Russell will be tasked with leading an Alabama offense that struggled to run the football last season. Despite this, the team still managed to finish with an 11-4 record, thanks in part to the play of quarterback Ty Simpson. Simpson threw for 3,567 yards and 28 touchdowns, but the team’s rushing attack was its worst in decades.
Russell will have to work with a new skill corps and an inexperienced offensive line, but Connelly believes he has the upside to drive the offense to solid heights.
