Alabama Football Players Honor Fathers

On Father’s Day, Alabama football players took time to celebrate the men who helped guide them to where they are today, sharing personal memories and heartfelt messages through videos posted by YEA Alabama and Alabama Football.

Lessons From Dad

For quarterback Keelon Russell, some of his favorite memories with his father revolve around competition. Russell joked that his dad played for a rival high school, creating plenty of spirited conversations and friendly trash talk whenever they got home.

Quarterback Austin Mack reflected on a milestone moment in his football career. “After the Rose Bowl, walking out of that tunnel, kind of after my first big snaps in college football, and just kind of seeing him and the rest of my family is just, I think it was a really cool moment,” Mack said.

Safety Bray Hubbard kept his message simple, expressing gratitude for the lessons his father taught him throughout life.

Offensive lineman Jackson Lloyd credited his dad for always being there. “My favorite sports memory of my dad growing up, probably just him coaching me basketball, taking me to all my travel baseball games, and just being there for everything, coming out to all my football games too. So appreciate you dad, love you dad,” Lloyd said.

Meanwhile, defensive back Ivan Taylor recalled the countless workouts his father pushed him through, saying some of his favorite memories came from the time they spent training together and playing games afterward.

The stories highlighted a common theme among Alabama’s players: behind every athlete is a support system that helped shape their journey. On Father’s Day, these Crimson Tide stars made sure the men who helped pave the way knew just how much they are appreciated.
