Alabama DB Zabien Brown Says Florida State Must Bring Their Best to Tuscaloosa

Junior defensive back Zabien Brown told reporters Tuesday that Alabama expects Florida State to bring its best performance to Tuscaloosa. “We’re Bama, that’s what we expect from everybody,” Brown said. “We’re everybody’s Super Bowl, and we expect to get everybody’s best shot. We want nothing less.”

Recent history fuels the rivalry

Last season, the Seminoles upset the Crimson Tide 31-17 in Tallahassee, a result that still resonates with fans. After that loss, Alabama rebounded, winning ten of its next eleven games, finishing the regular season 10-2, earning a spot in the SEC championship and the College Football Playoff. Florida State, meanwhile, added two wins before a four‑game losing streak halted any momentum built after their opening‑week victory.

2026 season outlook

Alabama enters the 2026 campaign with a 2‑0 record, including a road win in the SEC. Florida State has struggled, dropping games to New Mexico State and SMU before an early bye week. The Seminoles now travel to Tuscaloosa for their first road trip of the season, hoping to reverse their early setbacks.

Brown acknowledged the media coverage of last year’s upset but said the focus should be on the upcoming contest. “I’m sure they’ve seen it all over the media, so it’s not something that needs to be overly brought up, but everybody knows about it,” he added.

Game details

No. 10 Alabama will host Florida State on Saturday, September 19. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Central Time on ABC. The game promises to be a test of both teams’ preparation and resolve, with the Crimson Tide looking to reaffirm its dominance and the Seminoles aiming to prove they can still compete at the highest level.

Local coverage

Wyatt Fulton, the Tide’s 100.9 DME and Brand Manager, will provide extensive coverage of the matchup. Fans can follow Fulton’s updates on X (formerly Twitter) at @FultonW_ for live insights and analysis.

Alabama’s recent performance, highlighted by a 32‑point unanswered stretch in a 45‑17 victory over Kentucky, underscores the team’s offensive firepower and defensive resilience. The Crimson Tide’s preparation for the Florida State game includes continued focus on disciplined play and exploiting the Seminoles’ recent inconsistencies.

As the rivalry intensifies, local supporters are encouraged to attend the game at Bryant‑Denny Stadium or tune in via the national broadcast. The matchup not only showcases top‑tier college football but also reflects the deep‑rooted traditions and competitive spirit that define Alabama athletics.
