Tuscaloosa, Ala. – On Monday, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer addressed the media to provide the latest injury reports on three starters who were lost in the 20‑17 defeat to Georgia. The updates come as the Crimson Tide readies for its road game against the 14th‑ranked Tennessee Volunteers at Neyland Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 17.
Wide receiver Ryan Coleman‑Williams
DeBoer said Ryan Coleman‑Williams is dealing with a lingering knee issue and a separate head concern. “Ryan has a couple of things going on. Worked through an injury to his knee that’s been kind of going on, and so we’ll deal with that,” the coach explained. “Got the head issue as well. So, we’re gonna address that, even the lower‑extremity there this week. Pretty good chance we wouldn’t have him here this weekend. I think he would be probably week‑to‑week after that.”
Center Racin Delgatty
The center’s lower‑leg injury continues to limit his practice participation. DeBoer noted, “With Racin, just with his lower‑leg injury, just continue to evaluate him and kind of see where he’s at in the days ahead. Obviously, he’ll be pretty sore, kind of working through things and limited, for sure, early in the week. Certainly get some reps with other guys, in particular, probably Mal Waldrep, Casey Poe, guys like that.”
Defensive lineman Terrance Green
Terrance Green has been managing a nagging problem for several weeks that was re‑aggravated in the Georgia game. “And then Terrance, just keep evaluating him. This is an injury that’s been going on for a couple weeks now. Just re‑aggravated it, and it’s been limiting him in practice. And trying to get him to the game, he, I thought, made a great effort in trying to do that. Just, again, re‑aggravated it,” DeBoer said.
Coach’s perspective on toughness
DeBoer also praised the resilience of his players, highlighting the effort of both Coleman‑Williams and teammate Josh Ford. “These guys go through things throughout the week that you don’t see,” he said. “Ryan, in particular, has been doing that and leading the charge, not just with what he does to try to be out there on the football field for practice, but the energy and just trying to be an uplifting and uniting factor for not just the offense, but our football team. So, I know he was out there battling again on Saturday, giving everything he got, and he had until the very end.”
Additional injury news
Offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb reported that transfer wide receiver Noah Rogers, who suffered an A‑Day injury against Georgia, is “pretty close” to full health. Rogers saw only one snap in the loss.
Alabama will travel to Nashville for the Oct. 17 contest, with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC. The Tide remains No. 6 in the national rankings and will look to rebound from the narrow defeat.
