Los Angeles – The classic rock icons Aerosmith are set to reunite for two all‑star shows at the Hollywood Bowl, billed as “California, Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends.” The concerts are scheduled for Oct. 29 and Nov. 1 and will feature the band’s five original members on stage together.
Why the reunion matters
Two years ago the band called off its farewell tour after lead singer Steven Tyler suffered a severe vocal‑cord and larynx injury that was described at the time as career‑ending. The new shows signal a reversal of that retirement, giving longtime fans a chance to hear the original lineup perform live again.
Star‑studded lineup
The Hollywood Bowl events will showcase a diverse slate of guest artists. Train frontman Pat Monahan, who co‑wrote the score for the Old Globe’s musical “Begin Again,” will appear, as will Heart’s Ann Wilson, a native of nearby San Diego. Hip‑hop pioneers Run DMC, country star Eric Church, hard‑rock veteran Sammy Hagar, the Black Crowes, Billy Idol and producer‑musician Andrew Watt are also confirmed.
Additional appearances include Guns N’ Roses members Slash and Duff McKagan, Alice In Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell and bassist Mike Inez, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt, Godsmack frontman Sully Erna, as well as Marcus King, Tom Morello, Adam Wakeman, Audley Freed, Kenny Aronoff and more to be announced. Don Was will serve as music director for both nights.
Production and ticket information
The concerts are being co‑produced by Blackbird Productions and Live Nation‑Hewitt Silva. Bill Silva, whose company was a leading concert promoter in San Diego during the 1980s and ’90s, lends his name to the partnership.
Tickets go on sale to the general public Saturday at 10 a.m. PT, with a Citi‑card pre‑sale beginning Wednesday at 10 a.m. and several other pre‑sale windows slated. VIP packages and additional options will also be offered. Full details and ticket links are available at aerosmithandfriends.com and Ticketmaster.
Band background
Formed in 1970, Aerosmith was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. The group has not toured extensively in nearly a decade. Drummer Joey Kramer took a leave of absence in 2022 after an ankle injury and a failed lawsuit seeking to avoid an audition requirement for rejoining the band. A promotional photo released Wednesday shows Kramer standing with the other four members, suggesting he will perform at the upcoming shows.
Fans of classic rock and younger audiences alike can look forward to a night of timeless hits, collaborative performances, and a celebration of the band’s enduring legacy.
