Dawn Olivieri, known for her roles in Yellowstone, 1883, and Lioness, has built a 160-acre animal sanctuary in Arkansas called Moon Mountain Sanctuary and Rescue.
Rescue and Rehabilitation
The sanctuary is home to around 200 horses, as well as bison, zebras, camels, donkeys, and other rescued animals. Olivieri’s mission began when she went to save two horses from a kill auction and ended up bringing home 29 instead.
Olivieri hopes to expand the property into an interactive place where visitors can volunteer and connect with the animals under supervision. The sanctuary also has an adoption program for some of the horses, while many of the exotic animals remain permanent residents.
