The City of Clearwater is hosting an open house event, ‘Night at the North Ward,’ on July 30, to gather community ideas for the historic school’s redevelopment. The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the school building located at 900 N. Fort Harrison Ave.
Event Details
Clearwater Mayor Bruce Rector and City Manager Jennifer Poirrier will deliver welcome remarks at 5:45 p.m. Visitors can then explore the school on self-guided tours from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The evening will also feature music, refreshments, and open community conversation.
The city has partnered with the Clearwater Historical Society to display historic memorabilia, old photographs, and artifacts showcasing the school’s past and its connection to the local community. CGS Energy is serving as the official sponsor for the event.
Community members are also encouraged to share their own photos, stories, and personal memories of the school online at MyClearwater.com/NorthWardIdeas. Some of these submissions might be selected and displayed during the open house to highlight the school’s legacy.
Those interested in attending can register online at MyClearwater.com/NightAtNorthWard. Onsite parking is limited, but overflow parking will be available at the Seminole Boat Ramp at 198 Seminole St. The city notes that the historic North Ward School building is not currently ADA accessible.
