The Johnson County Community College (JCCC) Board of Trustees has approved the 2026-2027 budget, which includes a modest tuition increase for the upcoming academic year. This increase will help ensure JCCC can continue to provide high-quality academic programs, support services, and learning experiences for its students.
Tuition Increase Details
Starting in the Fall of 2026, tuition rates will be updated. For more information on the new tuition rates, visit the JCCC website at jccc.edu/tuition.
JCCC remains committed to offering accessible and affordable education to the community. Like many colleges and universities, JCCC faces increased operating costs related to technology, instruction, and student services. The tuition adjustment will allow JCCC to continue investing in resources that support student success, both in and out of the classroom.
The tuition increase will support various initiatives, including investments in student resources. All JCCC students have access to a range of student resources at no additional cost. To learn more about how JCCC supports its students, visit jccc.edu/student-resources.
Despite this adjustment, JCCC still offers one of the lowest tuition rates among Kansas community colleges and continues to rank among the most affordable colleges nationwide. JCCC also offers financial aid, scholarships, grants, and payment options to help students manage costs. Many students qualify for assistance that can significantly reduce their expenses. During the 2025-2026 academic year, the Financial Aid Office and JCCC Foundation distributed over $22 million in grant funds and internal and external scholarships to JCCC students.
For prospective students and their families, the Financial Aid office is available to explore financial options and resources. Connect with the Financial Aid team by visiting jccc.edu/financialaid.
JCCC has been dedicated to inspiring learning, transforming lives, and strengthening communities since it opened its doors in 1969. As the largest community college in Kansas and the Kansas City metropolitan area, JCCC offers over 80 degree and certificate programs and is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
Committed to accessible, high-quality education, the College serves students from its main campus and multiple satellite locations. Each year, JCCC supports the educational and career goals of 36,000 credit and continuing education students, meeting individual, community, and workforce needs in a welcoming, supportive environment.
