The park itself stretches across more than 100 acres of rolling land, towering pines, and open water, giving you the immediate sense that the city has dissolved behind you the moment you step through the gate.
The nature center anchors the experience beautifully. Inside, you will find live native animal exhibits featuring turtles, snakes, and other cold-blooded residents of East Texas and the Ark-La-Tex region. The displays are hands-on in spirit, educational without being dry, and genuinely engaging for visitors of every age. Staff members and volunteers bring a contagious enthusiasm to the whole operation — the kind of people who clearly love what they do and love talking about it even more.
Outside, the grounds invite you to wander.
