Staff Sergeant Pascual Delgado, a veteran who served in Iraq, has received a custom adapted home in El Paso, courtesy of Homes For Our Troops. The home features roughly 40 ada-adapted features, including wider doorways, roll-under counters and sinks, automatic door openers, and a safe room, designed to accommodate Delgado’s injuries and disabilities.
A Fresh Start
Delgado expressed his gratitude, saying, ‘This is beyond words… I thank God, a lot, and these, because this, these are blessings he’s showering with me.’ The home is designed to provide Delgado with the freedom and independence he sacrificed while serving his country.
The event also reflects enduring values for the nation’s 250th birthday, with organizers emphasizing the importance of respecting veterans and their sacrifices. Delgado served in Iraq and returned home with life-altering injuries, but now, thanks to Homes For Our Troops, he has a home that meets his needs.
